Hey guys, so I'm a fan of both Deus ex and mafia series, but the recent reviews are kind of putting me off, anyone any experience with the new games and what they are like ? I also used to play games like icewind dale and baldurs gate 2. Anyone here play the divinity original sin games, and if so how do they compare ? thanks !!

Mafia 3 seems like a great game it's just a case of waiting for the patch that unlocks the fps.

I also got WRC 6 which released yesterday, So far it's doing great, Initially I had a couple of issues but a small patched appeared a couple of hours after release and since then it's been running perfectly. Performance is decent with my Fury managing to keep close to or above 60 fps with everything maxed at 1440p. I'm really enjoying it so far, I am only 1 and a half odd hours in though.

I've also read that Gears of War 4 is a pretty good release but you need to buy the full package which is £80 for early access if you want to play this weekend.

If you are a fan of Deus Ex and have enjoyed the previous games, chances are you will like the new one. It's a very good game despite its minor flaws. Also, The Witcher 3!

As mentioned if you liked Dues Ex, don't let reviews put you off Mankind Divided, its a pretty amazing game in its own right and while the story is not perfect and cut short somewhat, still a great game to play through.

Divinity Origional Sins is a pretty amazing game, if you like Baldurs gate you will love Divinity I expect. Does not hold your hand and requires some thinking. Reading books and texts is pretty important, but I expect playing these sorts of games you would expect that. An amazing buy IMO ,easily one of my top 10 games and number 2 is out early next year with early Access already out.

Another one to look at is Pillers of Eternity, now with the expansion packs out it gets compared to Baldurs often. An another amazing game, but as expected, does not hold your hand and does have a lot of reading and text to go through.

Divinity: Original Sin is flippin awsome! If you're into RPGs then you're going to love it.

Not that recent but doom.

By far the best game out there, visually amazing and it runs superbly especially on amd with vulkan + little to no bugs.

Puts every other big AAA game in the last year or 2 to shame

Also an amazing game to play with a mate. Good one for slow, interrupted (beer, pee, kids, dog, wife, cooking, postman) play. Playing "who can **** up the most **** in the shortest time" can be highly amusing (experimenting with buffing one character to god status). In the early levels an "all elemental magics" caster has so many options for crowd control, the hilarity of 1 of you sat playing with them while the other (and the companions) smash the biggest threats to pieces is golden. Some good memories playing that with a buddy.

While these games aren't new, they are from this year. My two fav games this year (I buy a LOT of games. It's a disease.) are the new DOOM and the new Hitman.

Doom is a flawless and perfect FPS where the single player campaign is just absolutely a delight. It isn't that long but it is intense and gratifying. It runs smoothly and glitchlessly and is great fun.

My second fav game this year is the recent HITMAN game. While its performance is not well optimized (I get frame rate dips below 60 at 1080P on my 980) it is a tremendously cool and fun game. Another game that is not very long, but very intense and very fun. It forces you to think and plan and observe and it is a very interesting, very different kind of game.

Recently, Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3 were released for Win 10. These are two tremendous games that I have not played but that have gotten extremely good reviews. People say Gears 4 is the best Gears ever and people are calling Horizon 3 the funnest driving game in years.

Mafia 3 is a game that is excellent and has a lot of potential, but the PC version is currently highly glitchy and suffers from a 30FPS cap. These are bad things. I would avoid absolutely until these issues are patched out (if they ever are... I mean look at the last Batman Arkham game. It's STILL broken...)

Batman AK runs superbly now and more or less without any serious glitches/bugs. Certainly performs a lot better and looks a lot better than most of the recent AAA games out recently.

Thanks for all the reccomendations, I did have arkham knight installed, but yea early performance issues, and a lot of driving in the batmobile kinda put me off, Doom was an absolute blast, and brilliantly optimized, may look into the new deus ex and divinity games

Pillars of Eternity is more like Baldurs Gate 1/2 then anything else modern. If you want to stay in that era get that, blame me if disappointed, I don't give refunds though!
