Hey,

Heard a while back that there were some 144hz 1080p 24" (23.8" and 24.5") IPS monitors due to the market for July. Wondering if OcUK or anyone else has any visibility on the expected release of these monitors given it's coming to the end of July.

AOC China is listing a product called the 24G2 which has been listed in some European presentations as the 24G2U. This employs a 23.8" 144Hz IPS-type panel. I'm awaiting further details regarding the status of the monitor and confirmation it's definitely coming to the UK. I'm hoping to see it at IFA in September and perhaps Gamescom before then. I'd expect other manufacturers to follow suit with their own products using this panel as well, but I wouldn't expect any products using this panel to surface in the UK until Q3 at the earliest.

Also waiting for these. Already have 144hz, but switch from tn to ips will be nice + freesync.

Phillips have one as well (242M8) I think it might already be out in China

I'm assuming they are all the same panel. I think I read acer or asus have one coming as well. Asus already have one with the 27" 1080p panel, so I would assume they would do one with the 24 as well.

What's Q3 in monitor releases? October?.

Hope they do come over here and we don't get screwed over.

Sorry, I meant Q3-Q4. I think September - November is most likely. Philips and AOC are part of the same brand umbrella, so yes the Philips version will be using the same panel and can be expected to be quite similar overall. Acer, ASUS and LG all have 27" Full HD 144Hz IPS models but I would expect them to use the 23.8" panel at some point as well. Nothing absolute confirmed yet. :)
