Hi been a Sabnzb user for a while now, but just noticed even when downloading at max speeds my upload is maxxed out also.

Is there anyway I can adjust this like how I can adjust uttorent too say 12k ?

Or any other program that can adjust upload. Im aware of Sabnzbs download limiter but you cant say adjust it too 12k.

Newsgroups comms is one way, it won't upload what you download, your connection is probably being capped out.

Tried Grabit perhaps?

Also you can't utilise max upload bandwidth while downloading at full speed, UK home connections don't work like that.

I use Newsleecher. When I'm downloading at full pelt (2.33MB/s) my upload is about 30-40KB/s.

I think it's proportionate; the faster you download, the faster you have to request new articles, hence faster upload speeds.

Yeah I think your right sadly doesnt look like theres anyway too limit your upload too say 12k or even 20k.

I just tried altbins/grabit/newsleecher and there all the same as sabnzb, seems is not as configurable as say uttorent or emule which is a great shame.

I still cant see what this "Newsgroups comms" program is anyone else have any idea ?

Would have thought such a program couldnt exist if the others cant do it....

He meant "Newsgroup communication is one way" (as in "it only downloads").

Not "Newsgroup comms is one way" (of fixing your problem).

:):p

I'm very confused how one maxes out their upload with SABnzbd+ while "downloading at max speeds".

For comparison on 5/1 Mb/s ADSL, Win7's Resource Monitor shows my receive rate hovering around 513,000-514,000 B/sec with a corresponding send rate of 250-280 B/sec through 3 connections. That indicates the upload requirement is roughly 1 in 2000 and is a fraction of a percent of my available upload bandwidth.

How is yours different?

This.

Limit your download speed? which can be done with sabnzbd

Why would it even matter? If you are downloading as fast as your connection supports, your browsing and other Internet activities are going to get hammered. Just lower the download rate of SABnzbd to half of your max download rate and you should be able to use the interwebs normally. Ish.

Alternatively just download overnight or when you are away from the computer.

No if you're downloading as fast as your connection supports you can still browse the net, watch youtube videos and so on. I do it all the time. The only thing that increases is latency but only to a few hundred (no issue for normal web browsing, youtube etc).

It's only when you start uploading does the connection start to get hammered.

Only for torrents. For News/HTTP/etc it won't make a huge difference (upload rate).

Yeah im fully aware I can reduce my sabnzb speeds but I have too reduce it almost half just too get surfing/youtube videos too work smoothly and thats quite loss in speed too my newsgroup downloads.

When I was using emule or utorrent I could simply cap the upload too 12k or even 20k that way I could do everything else surfing/youtube just fine.

Im on an o2 line with 12meg download/1.5meg upload.

I guess its ok as previously said just gotta reduce downloads too 500ishk so uploads are then 100k, I just thought there would have been a better ratio for download/upload via newsgroup, or alternative is yeah download overnight.

Would have been nice too have other work arounds but guess not ;)

It's rarely an issue I face as I normally use SAB overnight. I am rather patient so I don't need everything NOW lol.

I'm not sure what your issue is, I'm currently maxing out my downstream via SAB and it's barely tickling my upstream. Browsing is virtually unimpeded, although I would have to reduce my download speed to make youtube fully usable. Otherwise it takes too long to buffer.

This is on Be* (Same network as O2) with 24mbit down / 1.5 mbit up. I'm right next to the exchange so I get the full speed on both down and upstream.

Actually, could that be your issue? Perhaps your upstream has synced at a low speed for some reason?

Its not a serious issue its just had it nicer back in the day with uttorent, I guess im trying too put all my eggs in one basket also :) I was just thinking if I connect a laptop downstairs or xbox live or any other device and wanna surf and too use newsgroups at sametime, its not gonna be possible....

Perhaps need bt finity, or in time isps will give 2meg+ upload speeds, that way I can be a bandwith monster ;)
