Any of you bought a 7850 when they were the in thing?

Well, I bought a Sapphire HD7850 2gb OC version a couple of years ago when they were all the rage due to the huge overclocking potential.

Mine's been happily running at 1250/1300 for all that time until 2 days ago when I installed Battlefield 4.

For some reason I just couldn't get Cat 14.4 to install. Tried Cat 13.2, reinstalled Windows, all to no avail.

Suddenly, I'm getting red dots on POST and in BIOS. Frequent flashes in games and, finally, won't load into windows. Even at standard clocks
So, VRAM gone then eh? :(

Put the card in another system, won't load windows. Put a spare HD5670 I had into my system, loads with Cat 14.4 fine.

Anyone know any tricks to get this little devil going again?

Happily, it does have a whole 5 days (cutting it close?) manufacturer warranty left so I've just sent a message to the shop I bought it from about getting an RMA for it.

Is anyone there that is still running their 7850 on high clocks?

Little update.
Received a replacement refurbished card today. Installed and running happily :)
Got the shop to hold it for me for a few days as I was on holiday in South Africa when it was ready to ship.

Not so sure I'm going to overclock this one too far ;)
Good ending though :)

Xfire is out for me as I'm already CPU bound as it is (in BF4 anyways)
I used to run Xfire'd HD5770s and was always impressed with the performance but found CPU usage was higher.

Time for a total upgrade.......soon :)
