Hey,

Just a bit worried about my laptop is all as ive noticed it is getting particularly hot tonight despite not doing any intensive tasks.

Just wondered if i was being paranoid and if not what i should do about it?

My core temp on the default fan setting atm is about 50°C give or take 10°C. it was hotter than this before so just a bit concerned really.

baring in mind the most intensive thing i was doing was listening to zune.

Anyway guy's if you dont mind, would you please check your temps so i know where i stand. Hopefully i wont have to send it away for repair for the third time as ive just got it back.

Cheers.

If there are no warranty seals, grab some MX-4 thermal paste and cleaning solution from overclockers, open her up, clean the cores and heatsinks with the solution, make sure all dust is removed from the heatsinks and then apply the paste (either a thin layer or the line method, rice grain or dot method does not work on rectangular cores).

Temps should drop again.

From a fellow GX660r owner I would say those temps are fine. Ive found the laptop seems to look after itself quite happily.

Mine is now modded with a faster cpu (920xm) and gpu (6970m). Over clocked and running at max, I hit 85C on all the cpu (4x22x133) cores, and about 75C on the gpu (800/900).
