It's a reward (for putting up with BT 
) to BT customers. You have to go to itunes.bt.com and login at 9am with your BT email address and they send you codes for iTunes that give you up to 10 songs.
A question for the techies! I got up early this morning especially just to do this, I logged on at about 8:55 - fine. Then, at 9.00 I clicked SEND after filling out my details and the website hasn't responded since. It now won't even load the itunes.bt page at all! Is this due to sheer volume of traffic, or am I being blocked?
I've had this problem every day so far, but eventually it accepted and gave me the free downloads.
