My pc stopped working when my wife was using it the other day. I got home and had a look and the motherboard (z77x-ud5h) had power but refused to boot or even give error codes. I took the HIS 7950 out and it booted using the intel graphics. I suspected it could have been the Enermax liberty 620w power supply giving up the ghost and not having enough power, so I have put a Corsair TX850M in today. I have reinstalled windows as I was getting some error with a conflict causing a reboot almost as soon as the pc booted and thought this is as good a time as any (im pretty sure it was to do with the Catalyst software). If I try and put the 7950 back in though get the same thing, no post and no error codes on the board. I have tried the gfx bios switch in both positions with no joy.

Really I'm wondering if anyone here has had one fail? it wasn't overclocked or anything but is the reference design with the standard cooler.

Have had mine for a month and neither have failed on me. I have 2 in Xfire with a 620W Corsair. Not sure how good the Enermax PSUs are but I wouldn't have thought it would have been that. :(

Yes my Powercolor 7950 PCS+ failed.
Never overclocked it to bonkers levels as it never seemed 'right' and eventually it give up.

No I haven't. Can I just drop it in another PCI-E port then? I assumed you had to populate the top first.

today we had some work been done in the house when I got but I discover they flip the switch to whole house switch the power off instead of just the switching the power off to area they were working in. so cut a long story short. I did some oc on the card nothing big, then return to stock setting and switch to tv mode to watch a dvd. a little later I when to switch back to pc after watching a dvd, pc was off so try switching it on got few bleeps and errormsg58 showing on my poster lcd display unit (mean something up with the graphic card) so I try reseating it in my other pci-e slot again bleep's and errormsg58 man was i getting P*@# off I only got this card Thursday as I bought it as it was on offer on Wednesday today deals only. so I try putting it back into the original pci-e slot I had it in plug in both hdmi and dvi into the card, crossed my fingers and push the power on button. it was working again so I don't know if it was a freak one off thing or not.

Are you using the latest mb BIOS? Latest beta BIOS might help also

Idk if your CPU is overclocked? But on gigabyte z77 it helps to manually set 100 bclk, and set CPU voltage response to fast
