any one use ad-aware?

i used to use it a while ago but only use spybot now.
should i install ad-aware and use that or is spybot good enought on its own?

I use Spybot and Ccleaner, Ccleaner wipes all your temp files anyway, so it makes adaware a bit pointless as far as I can see.

Use to use ad-aware. But it is so unstable these days. I've broken ad-aware specifically download updates on xp, vista 32 and vista 64. As far as I know you can't configure download sites. And had it crash a few times on xp. The older versions never did this.

Ccleaner, Avira Premium (which includes mal, ad and anti-spyware) are the only things I use. I have a normal Avira free antivirus and Spybot S&D setup on my laptop.

Used to use Ad-aware but the new version insists on processes running that it just doesn't need. Spybot and SpywareBlaster for me.

Adaware is rubbish. I only use Windows Defender and Spybot, which find nothing as I do not look at questionable sites.

Stooped using ad-aware a while ago just use the following now.

Spybot / SpywareBlaster / & CCLeaner set to start with windows and set to Gutmann

i hate ad-aware, it hangs my system waay too much when scanning. CCleaner and spybot are what i use. As well as the built in AV / AS that came with my ZA subscription.

Exactly why I stopped using it.

Ad-Aware 2007 is absolute rubbish, but Ad-Aware SE Personal was great and stable. Fast downloads too.

Had some chew with a computer at work. Was infected with all sorts of stuff.

Ran adaware, spybot, counterspy and none of them cleared it.

Ran SUPERantispyware and it fixed the problem.

One big fat vote for SUPERantispyware.

(There is a free version!)

Definatley give that a try.

another vote for SUPERantispyware.

I have to clean up a lot of peoples computers for work and I find that SUPERantispyware. cleans up far better than spybot and adaware

I think spyware has evolved but spybot/adaware have not
