I've recently got the original Bards Tale game working via DOS Box and I'm loving it to bits!
I used to play this back in the day on my C64 and then on my Amiga and I have to say it's not lost any of it's magic imo!!
I've got to the point where I've got a Paladin, Warrior and Hunter as my melee guys with a Bard (and numerous Flame Horn's) and 2 fully specced up magic users!
I don't know what level they are all at (primarily because of the odd "level draining") but they are all up around 350'ish HP's.
The problem I'm having is I cant seem to get past level 4 of Mangar's tower without at least one or two of my characters being turned to stone or withered (as far as I can see, the only 2 conditions that you cant fix with magic??)
I can pretty much batter most groups of foe's unless I come across a large enough number of Mangar's guards who are a nightmare to kill!!
I know it's a long shot as it's such an old game but has anyone got any tips on this??
