I am writing on MRSA as part of my final year project. So far so good here's an outline of what ive got and covered-

MRSA: an overview of antimicrobial resistance in MRSA; problems and possible solution in hospital acquired infection.

Hospital infection.
- what is it, what about it etc.

Modes of acqusition of hospital infection.

Rise in antimicrobial resistance

Mechanism of resistance

Factor promoting antimicrobial resisitance

Strategy for control and possible solutions
-Survelliance
-Hands hygiene and isolation precaustion
- Outbreak management

Possible solutions: The development of new antimicrobials
- Modification of existing agent
- Vaccines
- Genomes approaches

Anyother thing to add?

Can't think of anything specific but as a research tool try http://tahilla.typepad.com/mrsawatch/headlines/index.html

There is info on other hospital acquired infections like Clostridium Difficile as well as hygiene policies, high risk groups, and different types of treatments (wound and infection)

Who is most at risk to MRSA?

There are antibiotics that can kill mrsa.

The chemical pathway of antibiotics on Staph. aureas (sp?). Why is this not affective on mrsa?

Will add more maybe later....
