Been browsing around for about a week now while I tried to figure out what I need/want.
Basically I'm upgrading my pc and decided, as I have 2 cases sitting around, instead of just upgrading one or two bits, I would do a complete overhaul.
And so I come to:
Now, a bit of usage explanation is in order. I will be doing a lot of multitasking and graphic heavy work (planning on getting back into 3d modelling at some stage, got out of the habit after college :/) as well as Multiboxing in WoW (Don't really know how much about this is know, basically running and playing 5 copies of it at the same time using key cloning).
This lead me to the quad core processor and the 8gb of ram. I do plan on overclocking to about 3.2-3.6 depending on what I can manage to get out of it (hence the board, I hear it is damn good for that chip and in general).
I'm not tooo sure about the ram istelf, but I have found before that Ram sold in a group together is less likely to have compatability problems than multiple 2x sets (and I don't feel like waiting for the oca 2x4gb set - no eta and also I have heard stories of bad ocz ram compatability with this board)
The graphics I plan on running is a 4870x2 which is being organised in a week or so, hence why I would like to have this all ready to go for when I get it.
The side panel is just because I have the Eclipse case and thought hell, why not get the clear panel while I'm making an order!
The cooler I'm a bit stumped on. I know this is a good cooler, but I don't really know if it is the best for me. Also, I know its kinda picky but I really dislike blue LEDs, I would prefer red or none I guess, but thats a minor minor thing if the performance is there.
The MX-2 is what I have heard has usurped the AS5 as the king, so seemed like a nobrainer!
Aaaaanyways, my long winded rant/commentary over now.. Anyone got any comments/suggestions/OMG Why did you go for that!?! type stuff to throw at me, please go for it! I look forward to reading what you all have to say!
