Hi, after reading the other posts for a few days, this is the build I've decided to go with. I was wondering though... are there any cheaper options for processor/mobo etc? I'll only be using the PC to play games such as WoW and NWN1 so I don't really need anything too high spec. All suggestions are welcome! :)

Thanks Zefan! I was gonna go for the 4850 since I know it will last me for ages, but I think the 3850 would too. Should I go for the 3850 256MB version or the 512MB version? There's only like £18 difference anyway.

If you're going to be gaming at higher than 1280x1024 I'd go for the 512MB, it'll help a lot with more modern games should you choose to play them!

Since Zefan has recommended dual core then I'd suggest an E2180 or E2200 as probably the best choices which are less than half the price of the Q6600 but should still overclock well.

If you do buy the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro then you get MX-2 thermal paste pre-applied so you don't need the AS5.

I think I'm gonna go for the 512MB version to help a bit if I decide to play other games in the future. I have no idea how to overclock and I don't want my first time trying to be on my only PC so I'll go for Wolfdale! Thanks both of you for the help, I'll order it soon :)

The motherboard should come with all the SATA cables you need if you are on a tight budget but if not then there is no harm in buying the extra ones.

The Wolfdales do overclock very well (possibly even better than the Conroe chips) but since it is faster at stock it gives you a higher platform to start from so overclocking is less of an imperative.

Okay, I just ordered it with the 4850. I can't wait! Just now I have an AMD 64 3200+, Nvidia 5900XT and 1GB RAM... should be a fair upgrade!
