My better half is currently thinking about applying to become a paramedic but is really struggling to find out any half decent information. Even the HR department of the local NHS and Ambulance Trust didn't give a lot away!

Anyone here know the basic options of how to train up? From what i understand already there is more than one way of getting to the paramedic's job.

If anyone has rough salary details would also be handy :)

In the states it is a progressive training. Here there is a college that offers a EMT Basic, EMT Intermediate and EMT Paramedic course. You have to do them in succession and its usually takes awhile. Thats all I know Try your local colleges/Uni's

Being a paramedic is not like being trained in CPR. The hospitals are probably not going to have a lot on information about becoming a Paramedic but will probably have classes for CPR.

In conclusion, try the local community colleges and Uni's

I HAVE A FRIEND WHO IS ONE AND HE STARTED AS PATIENT TRANSPORT ,I THINK NOW IT MUST BE A YEARS SERVICE THEN HE WENT ON A NINE WEEK TRAINING COURSE AND GETS A CHECK EVERY MONTH TOO MAKE SURE HE DOING IT RIGHT ALL I KNOW JUST NOW
