Hi all,

Just wondering if there are any pc builders on here that are located in Jersey? I'm currently over here for the summer and one of my friends is looking for a first build but my knowledge on building is terrible, I was just wondering if anyone could help me (him) out and point us in the right direction for something.
He is looking to spend around £400-£500, over here there is no VAT so this could help with finding the right parts.
He has a monitor, and he wants to start out by playing destiny 2 + COD.

Any help would be massively appreciated, thanks in advance!

To be honest, these days everything is pretty much plug and play, your best bet is to post in one of the hardware forums (e.g. New to PC gaming & upgrade advice or general hardware) for some spec ideas and then just DIY it.

The OcUK website automatically deducts VAT for us Channel Islanders too, so if you find advice and guidance for what you wan through the forums I'd highly recommend ordering from here too :)

Start a thread in general hardware with the budget and he wants to use it for.

If you can handle playing with Lego then you have the skills required to build a pc :p

Honestly its very simple now but if you don't want to be his tech support for life then just tell him to buy a pre-built system.

Again there isn't much to it and plenty of guides but I would say that if your friend is the type to ask you for help with every little tech problem then don't do it and buy a pre-built. They will still ask you but for anything major you have the retailer as backup.

Exactly
As he is brand new to it, and I'm not experienced enough to work through the problems, I'll go with a prebuilt one.
