Trying to get quotes from photographers for taking 30 digital photographs for glass products.

They are quite small and light. All of them are made from the same material and have the same colour and tint.

What sort of quotes should I be looking at? I've had as high as £800 and lowest £150.

Thanks

I'm not a pro, but used to work retouching product photos back in the day. Somewhere in the middle of that range would be a decent price. There's a lot more involved that just turning up, snapping 30 pics and then sending someone the jpgs. There's all the lighting to set up plus hours of retouching and colour calibration to do as well.

not sure anyone can answer that as everyone's time will be worth something different to everyone else. Maybe try any amateurs or photography clubs in your area who might do it as a hobbyist rather than professional if your looking to keep the price down

As once being a professional tog and retoucher. I would charge about £30 an hour. I would say including setup and shooting, it would only take 3hrs max. I'd offer a basic retouching or a high end style. Basic being just making sure the product is adequately coloured and lit and the backdrop is white. I'd charge the same hours rate and I'd expect that to take another 3hrs.

So you should be looking at around 200quid imo. 800 is ludicrous, probably crap too and it takes him ages to do, so they think they can charge a fortune for being slow.

I was very fast, maybe in hindsight I could have charged more.
