Any plans for a swipe style keyboard in iOS?

I'm finding as I alternate between my iPad and my Nexus 5 that the one thing I really miss on iOS is a swipe functional keyboard. It is far faster to type like this and find it a bit strange that the functionality isn't there yet in iOS.

Any ideas if it is in the pipeline?

I assume I can get this if I jailbreak. Correct?

It looks possible if you jailbreak but apparently at the moment Apple has no plans to allow custom keyboards to replace the default one system wide.

I wouldn't bet against an official option, but you'll probably be waiting till the next major version if it was to happen.

Fleksy has an API to integrate their keyboard into other iOS apps, so it is possible that Swiftkey for example could do the same. However, system-wide, jailbreaking is the only option.

The swipe style keyboards seem to have reached a sort of critical mass. As soon as it starts undermining iOS' productivity credentials (real or perceived) I think we'll see a first party option.
