My boiler has packed in. Its an ancient Concord WRS 240 and it seems theres a fault with either the gas valve or the thermostat. There is still a pilot light and I've confirmed the 240 supply to the back of the thermostat control box. I've done a search but can't find any parts specific to this boiler, probably cos its so old. Is there anyone here who might know where to look, or suggest any dedicated forums to ask in, or preferably suggest any modern compatible parts.

If its the gas valve then legally and with safety in mind your not allowed to touch it PERIOD. Its a job for a Corgi qualified gas engineer.

Not quite correct the law actually states a competent person, Corgi is a scheme for registering of such persons but as a profit making business it is not a legal requirment. There has yet to be a test case to actually define a competent person.

I'm not planning on doing the job myself, I was after looking at the prices for the parts to make sure I'm not subject to creative accounting if I get a bloke in to do it. BTW I've further comfirmed the flying lead to the gas valve is ok so its either the gas valve itself or the pilot light sensor.
