Need some advice pls. The central heating system at my grans is scorching hot and so their is no problems with there radiators, but they can only get mildly warm water from their hot taps. It is a gas central heating system. Any useful advice would be appreciated

not a plumber but i have worked in the building trade for 18 years.

you could check the motorised valves to see if they are working and also the thermostat on the hot water cylinder.

As tonyzero said, its more than likely either the thermostat on the hot water tank if you've got one that needs adjusting, or the motorised valve that says

a) supply heating
b) supply hot water or
c) supply both

I would have thought that the valve is working as your getting some hot water through but its just not hot enough, also make sure that the electronic timer is working correctly and is set to heat the hot water for long enough. If its a combi bolier though then im afraid i dont know what the problem could be.
