Firstly sorry if this is a stupid question, i'm a bit of a noob at all this stuff! :(

I'm looking at upgrading my ram from pc2-5300 but not sure whether to go for pc2-6400 or pc2-8500.
My motherboard is Asus Striker Extreme which says is compatible with 800mhz ram which i think is the 6400 speed.
Would it hurt to spend that extra few quid for the 8500 ram?
I am looking at overclocking once i'v upgraded so not sure if that makes a difference?

£79.99 for 4 gig 6400 compared to £82.99 for 4 gig @ 8500

I was debating whether it was worth spending money on the set up i have atm but also can't afford to splash out on a full new rig.

edit: Am upgrading the ram purely for overclocking reasons though so if it'll allow me to overclock better and 8500 ram will still work on a 800mhz board then i think i'll spend that extra few quid. Thanks for the help!! :)
