I'm not going to debate what constitues pro, so decide for yoursef :p

Basically i used to quite good at FPS games on the PC. Was part of a clan and we did the various leagues etc.. and got our tactics and voice comms and had regular weekend matches and stuff, and my aim was always quite good

Fast forward to today, im bored of PC gaming and trying to get the hang of gaming on consoles

I just for the life of me cant get any sort of accuracy with the thumbsticks. Looking at the leaderboard of people added from OcUK ive got the lowest accuracy of anybody apart from rp2000.

I'm used to being top 1/4 of the table even when playing good opposition and am finding this really hard.

my movements seem to be never where i intended them to be. Ive tried changing sensitivity, and its not helped. If anything increasing from medium to very high has made it worse.

Anybody got any suggestions ? im watching console videos on youtube like this one

and cant fathom how they are so smooth and accurate. Its really annoying as i manage it with a mouse no problem.

i have my movment sensitivity set to 10 but i dont have the rp2000
i use M16 with silencer and heartbeat

0:35 at that youtube vid, where he tracks along the top of the desk then goes straight to his head

i just cant place the cursor that quickly with any sort of accuracy.

To get it at that small a target, i'm going left a bit, right a bit, up a bit etc.. by which time they've moved. My technique so far has been to either wing it, or to just get enough to make them a bit target so it doesnt matter.

But its really frustrating me not being able to just put the aiming cursor where i want it. Got about 24 hours total gametime with MW2 so far, and its not comming any easier :(

Pro = earn money from tournaments.

And that guy's not very good, he seems confused by local fire even when the enemy appears on his radar.

your by no means the only person in this predicament. After years of fps on the pc with a kb&mouse, then getting the xbox, taken me a while to get used to it. I'm still a noob but practice makes perfect

it just a case of practicing, like learning to ride a bike. my first fps i played was cod 4 on ps3 and i was toally rubbish at it. after about 29days of gameplay i have improved a lot. my cod 4 stats are : 0.91 kd ratio, 16% accuracy but it started off much worse than that! some thing like 0.5 and 10%. my mw2 stats are : 1.40 kd ratio, 24% accuracy but thats only down to having 29 days gameplay on cod 4!

Get some FPS Freeks. Most of the "pro" players use them now in tournaments and if your thinking of going to MLG :D they are legal in all major tournaments. Incredible product!

I hate add-ons and stuff but these are truly things of beauty. They've also saved a few of my mates coming from pc gaming to console gaming.

FPSFreek was developed to improve your accuracy in first person shooter environments, helping you react and hit your targets faster. FPS Freek extends the length of your analog stick, increasing your range of motion, giving you 40% more linear distance from full stop to stop. This gives you more leverage and increased control without disturbing your natural gaming feel. FPS Freek will help you to aim and lock in on your target faster, while putting less strain on your finger.

Awesome for forza 3 as well.....or any game that requires precision. Some people with small hands arent fans of them and of course they wont make or break you as a player...more of a preference really.

This guy uses them...just to give you an idea of the movement in game

Never heard of those before, interesting!

They are the one thing that stopped me going back to PC gaming. If you want a glimpse of what they do stick something that's around 1cm long on your aiming stick. Those child proof pill bottle caps are about the right height, that's what I did before I ordered but TBH it was obvious to me on paper how these would work.

Most of the top pro teams (xbox 360) now use them, even the ones that aren't sponsored by them. For £10 a urge anyone to give them a shot. The feel of the rubber on them is also a lot higher quality then the stock 360 sticks. Basically a softer more durable rubber.

Think will be ordering some of these today for my 360 pads :)

Though I imagine they would be awful on the PS3 - my fingers already keep hitting each other on the DS3, and this would make it incredibly annoying.
