Hi,

Can anyone spot any problems with this spec in regards to gaming + movies? Really couldn't afford to spend a penny more on spec?

i'd swap the dvd drive for a sata version, aside from that looks fine.

take it you will be running vista to use the 6gb of memory ?

what size monitor/res do you intend to game on ?

would be 22inch but after a bit of *fund analysis* I may not have anything over £760 sadly.

So instead I'm looking at the below possibly (hopefully not too much of an effect on gaming):



Obviously lacking memory but I need to find something compatible

Any criticism of this core 2 spec?

if u're funds are 760 ish then maybe look at getting the 8500 over the 8400, higher multiplyer will help with the overclock.

if you're not looking to overclock too much then i'd drop the mobo to something like the gigabyte ep45 ds3.

memory wise make sure you get something decent, geil black dragon for pc6400 seems to clock well or some pc8500 if the price is right.

am looking to overclock to 4ghz so I may well go e8500 (although the e8400 may make it to 3.8-4?)

yup should still get a decent overclock from the 8400.
