Any progress/new on 1080 pre-orders?

Any need for a new thread every time you've got a question?

Gibbo will post a wink face thread when the new cards are nearly available to order.

NDA lifts on 17th May for reviews. I imagine pre orders might go live around the same time as well.

haha - I keep seeing new thread too and wonder why they can't be added to the existing threads or asking questions like this in the CS section

Well I am so very sorry If I put you all out by starting a new thread, how can I ever atone for my sins? I am going to go away now and think long and hard about what I have done :o

Come on guys, he is clearly excited (like me) but yer, no need for new threads Mikuru :p

This is true Mr Gregster, I am just excited and got trigger happy :p You know i did look for an existing pre-order thread but probably not hard enough in my excitment.

While I concede I probably should have joined an existing thread, I feel there was no need for the poor tone coming from snips86x, specifically talking about me in the third person like I've done something so terrible

I am using 2 x GTX680 4gb cards and am due an upgrade but I can wait until the release of the Ti's next year.... I think. I am itching for some replacements. ;)

I'm desperate for a new card, my 7990 broke and could not be repaired. Been with out a graphics card for over a month now and using the intel 530 in my 6700K :(

I would love to pre-order.

Blind buying is never a good idea, undoubtedly the 1080 *Should* be a great card, lord knows it is on paper, but i would definitely wait for some rock solid reviews before splashing the cash

I can understand entirely - I suspect most OCUK members have 980Ti's and Titan X's so need to be more carefully about their next purchases, but I hang onto mine for a few years!

No, I have a Fury and I am entirely happy with my purchase :D..........Until the lure of Polaris/Pascal/Vega (After the benches, and real results ;)) hits me, of course.

I am definitely going to see what is what before jumping in to a new architecture though, as it's a lot of money and I want to feel I made the right choice.

On that note I would still wait, no matter what card i had in my machine. If you buy a 1080 and then a few months down the line Polaris/Vega do come out with a gobsmacker or even the 1080 Ti, then maybe you'll feel you should have waited.

However I also know what it is like having the money in your pocket and wanting to push that button....:D So a lot of will power needed to combat that one. ;)
