Just wondered if anyone here is a budding PUA or has heard/read about it?

I'm sure I will incur some flame-age from haters/people who don't understand, but that is to be expected.

No flame rage, it's just incredibly sad that anybody would call themselves a pick up 'artist' (lolwat?) and compensate for their inability to woo a lady by using such silly techniques.

I actually think being able to hold conversation with and make a lady laugh are exceptionally powerful tools in making special friends. They've worked for me for years. :)
 
After reading the first 4 chapters of "Rules of the Game", I felt a more fitting title would be "Douchebaggery for Dummies".
 
It is an interesting thought why people would feel the need to become like this and what they are trying to make up for (emotionally I mean most likely).

Probably had an ex cheat on them or something like that. Vowed never to get emotionally involved again, blah blah blah. All very Psychology 101. Up to and including the dying alone with a cupboard full of nonperishables. :p

Haha yeh I know I was asking for it. However I thought some may be, as the majority of people who look towards the venusian arts are guys who have fallen into the 'nice guy' trap of being forever friend-zoned, which is very common among computer 'enthusiasts', 'geeks' as we are labelled nowadays (including myself).

Some pickup artists who stick true to what they've learnt become incredibly successful at picking up women, but then fail dramatically when it comes to actually holding down a relationship and communicating with their partner (the douchebags you are referring to).

The problem is that men have been emasculated in today's society (inbe4 OP is sexist). Guys grow up with horrendous social anxiety, and receive no guidance on how to actually approach both men and women to engage in conversation (other than be nice and buy her flowers yada yada yada).

I don't agree with trying to sleep with as many women as possible just for the hell of it, and I wouldn't consider myself to be one of the douchebag types you guys see as the stereotypical PUA. I used the skills I have learnt - along with the mantra; I always leave the woman better off than when I found her - to form and maintain a successful relationship, which has been going on for over 2 years. Which for me is a success (seeing as my previous relationships were short and didn't end well, and prior to that, I was convinced I'd be forever alone).

Anyway, commence more hate/jokes :p
 
Meanwhile, those of us able to speak to women as actual human beings, and form relationships just by being ourselves, the world continues to function as before... :p
