Any reason I shouldn't buy this car ?

192K and no service history? Were you serious?

I was. I was always of the opinion that once a car gets past a certain age/mileage the service history becomes much less important and condition and how it drives is more of a factor, if they can prove the cam-belt has been done then even better, if not then I just need to factor a cam belt service into the price I am paying.

Not saying this is the right way to think about it, just the way that I do :)

I have had a few crazy miles cars never gain, strange things break. To me around 120k is best high mileage point.

Its not necessarily the engine, its the other parts, creaky interiors, electronics, knackered suspension. Its a base spec motor, surely theres got to better for the money.

Lets face a car like that isnt going to have money lavished on it to keep it tip top, its a daddy wagon thats going to be used and abused.

I guess so, things start to wear out around 80 - 120k

Current car is an ST220 on 125k and it has had rear shocks, front springs, 2 rear calipers due to the handbrake lever seizing and one of those is starting to play up again. 3 wheel bearings been done.
Clutch went which was a big bill due to having slave cylinder and flywheel done at same time.

The Odometer is in km for some reason which seems a little odd. Surely you could pick up a similar pre facelift car with less miles and some service history for similar money. The 1.9TDi is a very reliable engine if it is serviced properly but I'd want proof of this.
