Any reason not to buy Crucial Pro DDR5 RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36?

I’m putting together a gaming system for my brother with an AMD CPU and this Crucial RAM is currently on sale for £67 which seems almost suspiciously cheap. I’m just wondering if it’s cheap for a reason and best avoided?

Thanks

While it's secondary timings might not be the best (I've not checked) as long as the primary timings are in line with others, there's generally nothing wrong with crucial (micron) ram. 32gb has often been under 100 for the mid range (sweet spot) speeds, so an extra discount at black Friday seems very possible.

I too am trying to decide if it's worth getting some of this. Trying to figure out how much of an issue the CL36 is. I believe the other timings are reasonable 36-38-38-80 so it might be ok?

Depends on the CPU.

I saw test results yesterday, wish I could remember where they are, but for AMD gaming CPU's, the difference between CL36 and CL30 and CL28 was one percent. So that's £67 to £150 for less than a percent performance. The general feeling was that the reason for this was that the memory controller in the AMD CPU's was the bottleneck, so improving latency of the RAM didn't help.

I wish I could find the video again...!

Anyway, the average person goes for CL30. CL36 is unlikely to make much difference. CL28 certainly is a waste of money.
