Any reason this won't work?

I'm putting upgrade from my current set-up (in sig) to Core 2 duo, but I am trying to both make it future proof and budget friendly.

I'm looking at a e4300, an Asus P5n-e and 4x1 gigs of Geil Value PC5300; and I'm hoping for 3ghz+ on the overclock. Now I know that the ram is far from great in quality, but from what I can tell it should still have the legs to get to my 3ghz goal and it'll cost only £235 for 4 gigs (which with vista on the cards looks like a good move). I know that the ram may not be quick enough when the next big refreash comes but by that time we might be using DDR3 anyway.

So what do you think? Will it work? All the other parts i'll be using are in my sig.

Excellent. I hadn't seen that ram.

You're right that 4 gig is overkill at the moment, but I don't think it'll be even 6 months before it starts to become the standard build for all enthusiasts. In fact I'm sort of surprised that we haven't started seeing the first 2x2 gig kits hit OcUk.

I wouldn't get the 4 gig of ram due to the cost too. RAM is expensive atm and will get cheaper over the next few months (hopefully)
