As title says. I am in need of a new graphics-card, although I can probably hold out 14 days if there is something to gain in price-savings ;) Anybody has any idea if there is something major to change price-wise until then? Or should I just shell out now and get on with it :)

Depends if your looking at an 8800GTS, I would wait for the new driver releases for the HD2900XT to see if they increase performance enough to beat a GTS.

it allready did on the old drivers. and when the going gets tough it can some times.. (NOTE: i said sometimes) outperform a GTX
 
in my experience waiting for the next best thing in the computer world is just not worth it, simply because there will allways be the next best thing on the horizon.
 
I get you on that one. The point was more if I bought a card now, that in 14 days something is scheduled that would amount to some significant price-drop. 14 days would be my max waiting-time as my main comp is without a graphics-card.
 
well there si hearsay that the 8800 ultra will drop a bit but who knows when and how much :confused:.

As far as i know there won't be any real new developments in graphics cards until november/december time with the g90/g92.
 
Thanks mate, I ain´t going ultra, so might as well just get what i need now it seem.
