Any recommendations for an extractor hood?

We're looking for something slim, preferably in black, with touch controls. Our last hood had buttons and they're a bugger to clean around.

We've seen one of these, which we like. But the warranty isn't very good. We'd like something with 2+ years.

Any suggestions?

Capel are just a brand, they don't make anything themselves just so as you know. If you can find something that looks the same but cheaper, buy that.

Hoods are very simple beasts, there isn't a lot to go wrong in them.

Don't buy cheap, especially if you have to push a lot of air (ie a long outlet pipe to the vent). We went Neff, and it's been great even though we have a smaller than optimal vent pipe.

Neff comes with a decent warranty, and you can extend it.

The length isn't the issue so much as how many turns there are.

And taping any joins in the duct work will stop any air leaks.

I bought a Bosch Avantixx DWW06D650BExtractor hood brand new, unused & boxed off the bay for £60 back in August, drove 160 miles round journey to collect it & found it was a 70cm model & not 60cm as advertised.

Look around you can find the Bosch Avantixx DWW06D650B for £300 or less & has a 2 year warranty.

also use the largest ducting that the hood will accept, reducing from 5inch to 4 inch will double the noise and lose extraction by about a third :)
