Any recommendations for where to visit in japan?

i am going to japan in a few days and it will be my first time there, i am wondering what places there are to visit? (please provide me with some locations and some background to the attractions)

The War Museum thing.(more then likely at Hiroshima)

You can still see peoples shadows faded into the steps of an old building there from the Nuclear bomb
