Hi Guys,

Not sure where this should go but thought GD be the best place for some household advice.

Im in the market for a Dremel as Ive been making do for too long with hacksaws and the like. Just wanted some recommendations which one a DIYer should get?

I was thinking corded is the best idea over cordless, but not sure which model to get beyond that, I am leaning towards the hard boxed 3000 (3000-1/25) as it comes with a flexi-shaft which the 4000 comes with as standard as it might be useful in tight places...

I have read the older 300 series might be also worth looking at as its got some of the 4000 features too.

Any help would be great :). TIA

Do you know if Aldi always sell it? I thought it was a one time thing? I do remember people mentioning it a few months back as its just a rebranded Dremel...

Just looked that their site and its kinda useless - I can try and pop into one tomorrow to look I suppose - fingers crossed

I think a rotozip would be better for DIY. A dremel would be better for small hobby stuff though.
Never heard of them - any product recommendations? I wouldnt say Im doing anything heavy duty, just be nice to be at hand when needed but dont want to spend over the odds on something I might only use a few times a year...
I can't remover the numbers, but check out which fit all the attachments. Most of them don't fit the attachments.
So if you what the router, mini saw and other stuff, that's first port of call.
I presume then the 3000 would be a good call as it seems a new refreshed model so cant see how it wouldnt fit the existing accessories - the main one I want is the flexi-shaft as I know half the time Im fiddling trying to fit the tool where Im working and end up just doing it manually...
