I need a projector for a boardroom that will be roughly 10ft away from the screen which will be 50in and it needs to have connectivity for a pc/laptop.

Haven't looked at any projectors in years so no idea which brands to start with, would appreciate any suggestions or places to start looking.

Cheers

(Edit) Forgot to mention looking at around 700-1000 in budget.

I've got an Optoma HD800X, which is just in your budget, and use it with my HTPC. The PQ is great, it's 1080p and I would thoroughly recommend it........unless you suffer from RBE or want a completely silent PJ.

You wouldn't quite get an image as small as 50inch from 10ft though. More like 55inch. You can use this to work out screen sizes;

50" screen, you would probably be better off getting a LCD / Plasma instead, if that means saving for a bit longer it will be better in the long run.

Any reason why limited to 50" ?

the projector is for use within a board room setting - so presumably a business is paying for it

For Business use you only really want XGA but want as many Lumens as you can get!

I've been using a Sony CX155 (3500 Lumens) for nearly two years and would recommend it, but it's a bit overbudget so I'd say the Sony CX120 (3000 Lumens) is more relevant. :)
