Hi all,

I recently purchased and built the following:

  • Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 LGA775 'Yorkfield' 2.83GHz 12MB-cache (1333FSB) Processor - Retail + World In Conflict PC Game
  • Asus P5Q Deluxe Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
  • Asus ATI Radeon HD 4870 Dark Knight 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
  • Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650TXUK)
  • Samsung SpinPoint F1 750GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD753LJ)
  • OCZ Titanium 4GB (2x2GB) Edition DDR2 PC2-6400 Dual Channel (OCZ2T800C44GK)

I need a new monitor and I was thinking of perhaps adding an SSD and maybe a blu-ray drive.
I've got about £350/400 to spend. Could anyone give me a few recommendations for these or anything else that would be worthwhile?

Thanks in advance,
Jez

An SSD and a blu ray are nice to have, but don't sacrifice on your monitor for them. Something like this is pretty much the nicest monitor around now (a bit over budget admittedly) but it is truly awesome.

If you can wait, there is supposedly a new monitor coming to OCUK with the same panel as the HP, with less inputs, but for closer to £340 (not sure what brand it is or when it is arriving though).

But TBH, if you get this monitor, you will have some money left to spend on an ssd and blu ray amd still have an awesome monitor.

If you want a blu ray, this is the one to look for. As for SSD, I hear the OCZ Vertex series is great.

Thanks for the help! Think I'm gonna get the Asus monitor and LG Blu-Ray player for now and then maybe pick up one of those SSD's next month. =)
