Hi All,

Wondering if anyone could offer some advice before I speak with Plusnet.

We currently have a Plusnet unlimited account and according to the Sync speeds the router is getting we should be getting ~20Mbps shown here (the upload is awful as well);

However when I do a speed test I'm getting half that (also we live near Selby, but the speedtest always wants to test near London, possibly a Plusnet thing?);

Test carried out over Ethernet link, not wi-fi.

Just wondering if there's anything I can do without ringing plusnet, or is it a matter of them doing some line checks and adjusting accordingly?

Cheers

Thanks for the links.

From reading their website looks like they are limited to 17 Mbps anyway for ADSL, gives me an excuse to upgrade to fibre!

Cheers

ADSL2+ supports an up to 24Mb downstream speed.

The reason Plusnet advertise it as up to 17Mb is because of advertising rules where the ISP can only advertise a speed which 10% of customers acheive. In this case, the highest speed 10% of customers could acheive was 17Mb/s hence, 17Mb/s is advertised.

You can get up to 24Mbps, depending on how far away you are from the exchange.
