Do you plan on using it for CDs or iPod/USB?

I have not actually played a CD in the car for years now, all USB in the glovebox. Clarion do a very nice unit which has no CD drive, USB and Radio only but it lacked RDS and lacks any backlight colour control - otherwise it looks absolutely excellent at £139.

Yes but at £300 it's a bit beyond what I wanted to shell out, £215 for the Alpine above is probably my top spending desire!

I wonder if any shops still sell the older Pioneer minimal looking models.

If you can stretch to 250, you could get an Alpine X305 - would very much reccomend it for iPod use (I have it's grandad, the X001)

My personal experience with kenwood heaunits is they should stick to making food processors, alpine, pioneer and jvcs offering always aeemed to be leagues ahead imo.

Too blue!

I don't even WANT to look for prices on that but that is just absolutely 110% amazing and I don't even care that it's not red illuminated!

Then go for the 88RS....

I had the equivalent P77MP for years, lovely styling and got it for £100 :o

They have ramped up the quality and prices of their flagship models yet they don't have Bluetooth out the box.

The 77MP is the equiv of the 88RS not the 99, still more than the 77MP was.

The first 77MP I bought new for £200! Second one I bought got for £100 second hand, but still had the faceplate from the first one, and still using it today :)

It looks bloody awful, but then most HUs do.

I like Alpine HUs, awesome quality, and they look the best I reckon.

Strongly considering this for my mx-5 (Alpine ida-X305):

Although I quite fancy a double DIN unit.
