Hi guys,

Does anyone know of a service where you can rent a tv for short periods, like 2 weeks?

Ours has gone for repair under warranty for a persistent issue and is going to take 10 days, we haven't been given a loan set due to availability. With being house bound atm and having a small child in the house etc I'm wondering if theres companies who do tv rentals by the week?

I could buy a cheap tv but don't want to waste money on something like that which is otherwise not needed.

I would imagine the cost of renting (if possible) would probably be more than buying a second hand tv from Gumtree/Facebook.

^this. It's 2 weeks, buy some used cheapo jobbie if you absolutely can't live without and stick it back on Scumtree for the same price when you're done.

Just get a smaller 2nd one to tied you over, can always resell it and get most your money back

Yeah definitely doesn't seem like a viable option to rent, I'll just see about getting a cheap one 2nd hand and flip it.

Buy one from the John Lewis website and just return it afterwards.
Yep just do this. Buy and return when finished.

Used to do this all the time when I was a teenager, buying stuff from Argos, using it then returning it.

It's people like you that ruin things for normal people.

Plus don't most retailers reduce your refund by a percentage with tv's being returned if its because you changed your mind once the box has been opened?

I suspect you'd get away with it in John Lewis I just think it is dubious to do so if you had no intention to actually buy it initially.

I agree, truthfully the thought did cross my mind but I don't agree with stuff like that.
