Any Sony KDFE50A12 owners?

I have a friend has one and he had two previous RPTVs going back over 10 years. Its a very good RPTV probably the best currently at that price.

Its a good big ass sized HDTV for approx £1200 or less.
Therefore you get more scale and decent quality for your money than you get in LCD or Plasma and id say about 75% the quality of the better LCD/Plasma models.

PC connection will run at 1024x768 in 4:3 but you can manually zoom this to fill the screen. 360 looks good on it but you wont get the same degree of real sharp image youd get from LCD/Plasma however will certainly still please.

Most current Sony models are 480i 480p 540i 540p 720p 1080i.

cheers that what i needed to know..

I found a m8 you just got one so i niped arround with my 360 and wasnt that impressed!
Maybee it was because i was too close to the tv (within 10 feet) but it seems blury and the text seemed to have a ghost..

Dont know if was just his but i wansnt too impressed with the dvd play back (i think the 360 it to blame for this tho)

Cheers

LCD lamps need time to burn in.

It may ghost slighty untill the lamp gets to optimium temprature, say 20-30mins. X360 for DVD is pretty poor so, ive heard, never tried it.

Well I've not tried a 360 yet on the tv. But I have tried my xbox and htpc and they look great. Even if my xbox is connecting via composite it still looks good. Yes it's not great but looks better than when I was using it via my pc.

Using my htpc dvd's look great and with some tweaking I'm sure I can get them looking even better. I disagree with the sharp image statement given this uses 3LCD panels to create the image rather than a colour wheel that some dlp's use. I don't know all the in's and out's of how it all works but I know that this is certainly the best tv i have owned and will be keeping for a long time. Even if I do have to change the bulb every couple of years.

I still think this is probably one of the best value for money sets that you buy at the moment.

I have one, just got it so i cant really comment as i havnt had enough time to evaluate it.

Im going to build a HTPC box to run on it and will give a brief review once ive had a chance.

picture aside, this set is definately the best value for money set around at the moment. For around £1200, the set, the stand, delivery, built in freeview and 5 years warranty..

Hard to beat for value

I do like the set but im still not sure! (i shouldnt be this fussy at this price)
