Any speculation on when the new MBP will be out?

Oh dear, I'm so desperate for it to come out! I really really want one, but knowing the current design of the MBP is 2 years old, it puts me off buying one! Is there any speculation at all as to when it will be announced or released?

If you really need a Laptop the current MBP's are supposed to be great, I have not use one my self but there are no major issues I have herd about. If not wait for the new ones, will be worth the wait in the long run.

Buy one second hand or from eBay. Then sell it in 6 months. You should easily get 80% of your money back.

They will be out with the same time frame as the last ones. Around 4 weeks after the new chips started shipping from intel. Nothing to do with the keynote dates. They run on intel time not apple time now.

Will the macbook get any updates soon or around the same time ? Sorry to hijack but im wanting to get a macbook soon unless theres going to be an update.

If you play the waiting game you will never end up with anything. Seriously, even with mine which is the entry level MBP it has eaten everything that I have given to do, whether it play games or multi-task it has taken in its stride.

The only reason people are holding off is because there might be a case re-design, but I don't care because I think that the current MBP style is sleek and stylish anyway.

I've just picked up a 2.5ghz 15"er from work and I can honestly say its the NICEST machine I've ever used, and I've been lucky enough to use some the best notebooks over the years - but this beats them all hands down...

As above - buy one off that auction site - and sell it.

I'm gonna wait until the new version ships before I upgrade my home machine, but you wont regret purchasing a second hand one now for a few months

The MBP will get a speed bump (I doubt it would be that noticeable) as well as a potential case design. Remember, you might not even like it.

Buy one now. You can probaby get a 15" 2.4Ghz for £900-£1000 on the ebay) and sell it in the future if necessary.

2 years? It's more like 6 or 7, it's barely changed since the G4 Powerbook.

Thanks for the replies. I'm a student though so havent got much £ to be throwing around. It looks like I might just have to wait :mad:
