Any Spyware scanner to run at bootup?

Hey guys bit of an issue, have some spyware most likely a rootkit which has stopped the user from logging on...as soon as the user logs in it auto logs off...

Is there a scanner I can run from lets say a usb stick or cd that can be run at system startup?

As I currently cannot login either in safemode!

Have you tried safe mode instead, pressing F8 key to bring up the boot menu just after the POST screen?

Edit 1: Just re-read you post and seen safe mode comment

Edit 2: Ultimate Boot CD list BugHunter under its malware section. or you could go to BugHunter website for specific information. Latest version is 26th August 2008 though.
