Hi,

This problem for me has been ongoing for some time now. I have watched my nan struggle with day to day activities and have been increasingly frustrated at the lack of help provided for her and others by the council and elderly welfare charities. I was wondering if anyone else has been in the same boat and could please share their experiences with elderly care (whether that be positive or negative). Have any of you ever experienced problems with the care system or the way in which the elderly are treated by society?

Thanks.

Then explain in more specific ways how your relative struggles and why the council/charities have failed her.

The vague question looks straight off a survey. Do remember though, putting context in there will change the kind of replies you get.

To be fair this is GD we have everything from "fruit toilet ninja" to "My 4 year old wont wear shoes like I told him to, what should I do?" :D.

Social care seems to be a bit of a lottery sadly.

Are the problems she's having something that you can solve yourself?

E:Clearly I have issues. I see female name as username and instantly think guy trying to get favour. Damn it IRC :D.

Interesting first post on a computer shop forum.

it's GD, if the OP has lurked for any length of time he will know any and everything gets discussed (I use that term rather loosely btw!) in here. also to be fair this forums names is a bit of a give away too, General Discussion!

TBH OP, if you are looking for examples to use in your social studies homework, there are better sites than GD to look for them.

But if you want a GD answer:

My nan was doing fine until the EU sold her her to gay, job stealing terrorists and now she is forced to fight an army of queen wasps. Luckily she has a quarterstaff, so nothing short of a gorilla with a quarterstaff can stop her.

No, but I have witnessed problems in the way in which the elderly are treated by their own families.

It seems a lot of people finish college/uni and just run for the hills to become slaves for the government in exchange for a small amount of money and throw their parents in a care home.
