Hi guys,

Just about to order these two items to upgrade from my current spec.

Considering that I don't want to crossfire in the future, is this a wise choice right now? I wouldn't mind overclocking the i5 a little bit, maybe to 4.0ghz. Are there any other motherboards or CPU's to consider in this price range? Interested in Intel only as AMD have kind of dropped the ball right now.

Thanks,

Same cpu and mb i went for, im just waiting on some corsair vegence white LP 1.35v ram atm then i can build it.

Ocuk uses that mb with their overclocked bundles with a certain air cooler but i went for water cooling (antec 620) as it was going cheap for £43 which is probably the price of a decent air cooler really but tbh sick of them massive heatsink fan units so thats another reason i went water this time.

From reading around especially in the ivy bridge topic it seems a lot of people can easily get 4.2 and most get 4.4.

The mb needs a bios update for oc stability tho so i plan to update mine when i can get it all sorted and have windows on and before i overclock it stick the new bios on with a usb flash drive i bought recently.
