Hi Guys,

Just after some suggestions on my current site...it's fairly new, only had it up a couple of weeks, but never gave it a thought to ask my fellow OcUK'er their opinion :p

Anyway:

What do you think overall? I've still to add webwork, and some print work, but should be updated in the next while! - So, forget the lack of work for the time being :)

I'm still not really happy with it to be honest, and think I need to add to the layout perhaps, or include more information, but I'm not really sure how to present more information, or what information to include.

Thanks in advance!

I love it.

Being a designer myself I'm quite biased but yes, it's really nice.

The work you have is nice, but I'd love to see it when it's full of print work too.

When you've seen one abstract, you've seen them all. :p

Quite nice actually.

I'm not sure about the Times New Roman (perhaps Georgia would be better), but that is down to personal opinion. The white space at the top (above the level one header) looks like it should be broken up by something, or just made smaller. The shadow gradient effect to the right of the main content area seems a bit harsh (perhaps a lighter shadow would be better - 20% transparency or something along those lines?) and the text in the header is a bit difficult to read at higher resolutions. Apart from that, very nice.

P.S. You might want to look into Lightbox (or perhaps the new, lower fat Litebox) for displaying your work. Having to navigate backwards and forwards between pages seems a bit awkward at the moment :)

Thanks for the comments guys :) Appreciate it.

Some have suggested using a sans serif font instead of a serif for the body text, I quite prefer serif, but some people seem to be against it.

I'm not too keen on lightbox tbh, I think it's been overused, and people can instantly recognise that it's a free download. I'd prefer to make my own, only thing holding me back is my lack of javascript knowlege

No I agree, it's a bit overused. It wouldn't suit the flow of your site. I put it on my mine because I thought it looked cool, but the novelty is wearing off.

Stick with serif font, it suits the site much better than sans would.

Looks good. I saw it when you posted it up on DT and IIRC people liked it on there as well. I really like the art work you have on it, I don't think I've seen anything like it before.

I agree with Al Vallario that navigation between your work and the main page is awkward. I find it's better if you let the user decide if they want to open a link in a new window or not, rather than forcing it upon them. Then you can provide a link back from your work to the main page.

Good work otherwise. :)
