Any thoughts on problem solving boot issue

I have a Sandybridge i7 2600 and Asus P67Pro system. It was an OCUK bundle at 4.6Ghz. Its been a great system although would infrequently fail to POST although a second boot would solve it.

Over the last couple of weeks its become a pain to boot, requiring perhaps six attempts. Once it has booted though it is completely stable.

I'm just thinking about where to start troubleshooting, any ideas on don't know whether to try a new motherboard, new cpu or trying a new psu (currently a Corsair TX850).

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That didn't work, but I found something interesting. I always turn off the PC at the mains because I have a number of usb devices attached that draw power.

However if I leave it turned on at the mains and go to it 6 hours later it boots first time.

Any thoughts please?

Right, I've made some progress. Firstly I reverted to the last but one BIOS, now it fails to boot first time but it does the second time. Changing CMOS battery did not help.

Any ideas to get rid of the failed boot?

On the plus side its now stable at 4.7Ghz!
