Thinking of upgrading my current setup and passing on my old 8800GTS plus older components to my eldest:

GeIL 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz Black Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit - £64.61
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler - £17.61
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.16GHz (1333FSB) - £234.99
OCZ GameXStream 850w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply - £111.61
Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case - £70.49
Pioneer DVR-215DBK 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - £19.96
XFX nForce 780i SLI (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-N780-ISH9) - £180.94

Anyone see any problem areas or could advise on any better/cheaper parts?I'm opting for the SLI board as i may get another 9800 GX2 at a later date (Vista only?) so obviously i'm gonna need a PSU with some muscle :p

I use XP at the mo, although i'm not totally off the idea of moving over to Vista. Will be using the PC for mainly for games, not 100% sure about CPU, should i invest in the E8500 or Q9450?

Thx

Can't see a GFX in that spec are you going for a GX2?

Why not get the OCZ reaper 4gb PC6400C4 kit on this week only for just £2 extra?

If you're going to overclock I'd go for the E8400 instead that will save you quite a bit of cash.

As for dual vs. quad - if you're going to upgrade in the near future then go for a dual now as it's still the best for games.
