Any thoughts

Hi all, bit of advice needed here, I have two systems up and running, one is mine which has the following components:
Abit KN9 Ultra Motherboard
AMD 64 x2 Black Edition clocked to 3.4GHS
Geforce 8800GTX Graphics card
Samsung HD103SJ 1000GB Hard drive
4GB OCZ XTC Memory DDR2-800
Antec 902 case
Hiper 580 w p/s
This is my system, been up and running around 18 months stable and sound.
Next system I built for the wife and kids around a year ago( because it needed a up-grade first)
Abit AN78 DDR3 Board
Quad Core AMD Phenon x4 Black Edition 9850 clocked to 3GHZ
OCZ XTC 10666 DDR3 Memory
Geforce 6800 GS Graphic card
Antec 400w p/s
Lian Li Case (getting tatty)
Thing is, do I up-grade mine to a DDR3 Motherboard and 1600 DDR3 Memory
and Latest Black AMD cpu.
Or give mine to the wife and get a new case, power supply, and Geforce 275 Card and have hers, all from overclockers of coarse.

Should I up-grade to a DDR3 system or wait till a new chipset comes out next year....or just put a new card and case for my wifes and have that...has long as it turns on and runs, the wife dont care.

I would be inclined to think about making one machine out of the best components from both the above machines, the sell what is left.

Add the money you make to your budget and build a new PC.

If you can decide on a budget, and state what components you will use from you old build, what operating system you have or if you need a new one, and importantly what you use the PC for! I am sure you will get loads of replies.

From the initial budget your post infers, I would look at getting the Motherboard/CPU/Ram option 1st with a shiny new Corsair PSU, case, graphics card later.

And someone wil probably tell you to get rid of the Hiper PSU, and the Antec 400psu may not be enough.

Coarse = Rough. Of course.

Thanks sastusbulbas, thinking you could be right here. I use mine to play games on and go on the net, wife and kids just go on net and do home work, running Windows 7 on both pc's.
Budgets around £400.00.
