Hi all

Just snapped up a Silver Silverstone Fortress case to go with a a bunch of stuff purchased off the fine people at OcUK.

As its my first build I'm keen to avoid making errors and damaging the kit or making a 1 hour job last 24.

So this is the bundle thats going in it:

Everything in it will be new, the 750 modular power supply, 2x 500g hard drives, the dvd writer and my pride of joy a 5870 card :) I've even got a new windows 7 pack itching to get loaded in.

So is there any advice Fortress owners can give me for avoidng issues with this build

Oh and if anyone can confirm I don't need to buy extra cables that would be helpful. Everything is going to be boxed new so retail versions.

Thanks in advance.

What do you need to know about it? Just ask.

1st thing to do is remove the top section of the HDD bays to make plenty of room for the 5870, and allow better airflow towards it from the front.

What I will say also is take your time routing the cables. Plan it out and make sure you have plenty of small cable ties and even some sticky tie downs to anchor them and you will end up with a great result.

As for cables, depending on PSU you will probably need an 8pin extension cable to allow you to route it around the back of the board.
