Any tools for checking google ranking on a daily basis?

I have a website i want to monitor and am trying to get it to page 1 of course as everyone does. Are there any tools there that will say for example.....

Today your site is 83rd.

I know i could keep looking manually but that will obviously take more time.

I just check manually. I am on the first page and my site is 9 days old

Its asking for a google api key? I have a google account but there is about 1000 different api's? Which one do i need?

Ah yes. A couple of years ago there used to be only one API key you could get from Google

. I've just had a quick read of the forums, and it turns out they no longer issue the API keys for their SOAP interface - http://code.google.com/apis/soapsearch/reference.html.

Unfortunately, unless you can beg/borrow/steal one from somewhere, that site's not going to be of much use.

Obviously google webmaster tools is only a weekly thing.

I think seobook has some firefox plug-ins for you to check the ranking of a site automatically.

Back when I was web hosting I'm sure there was an add-on for Firefox that used the same page rank bar as the google toolbar uses that you could set to permanently watch one website.
