Any track ir users

Hi peeps are any of you using track irr I'm Interested in this cos I wanna play dcs .my question is I'm not in front of my 4k tv do you have to be in front of this for it to work??

The tracking is handled with an external device and it can track fine regardless of where it is positioned (as long as your in its field of view)

Not facing your TV won't be a problem but it may be a little jarring as your perspective will be off.

Yeah playing any sort of sim game without head tracking is a no go for me, whether its ms flight sim, elite dangerous or dcs, it makes a world of difference to the experience beaten only by a full VR setup.

Track IR5 worked best for me (ArmA 2 and 3) when the tracking device was mounted on top of my monitor and I was using the powered beacon device clipped to my headphones.

There is a passive reflector that you can slide onto the peak of a baseball cap etc, but I never tried it.
