Any TV's that send lossless audio from native apps via eARC?

My Sony A90J doesn't, and I've not tested the LG G2 but from a brief Google search that doesn't seem to either.

Any idea why this is so hard for manufacturers? These can passthrough lossless audio fine from external inputs via eARC so why not native apps?

It's mainly affecting me watching movies via PLEX, which means my Sony HT-A9 audio system inc ATMOS doesn't get much of a workout - Things either play in 2 channel stereo or lossy DD 5.1

Is the Nvidia shield still the best option to resolve this or are their better solutions in 2023?

Earc can do lossless so not sure why an app can't do it. If you use plex through something like a firestick into an amp can that pass through lossless?
