Hi all,

Just wanted to know what your thoughts and experiences have been with Virgin.net broadband?

Thanks

I got out last month. Terrible speed and pings in peak times. CS was OK (UK based call centre) but they then cut me off before my switch over date leaving me with out internet for 4 days. :(

I'm with Aquiss now - a Enta reseller.

Looks at your other thread. If it is just web surfing at MSN it will be fine. :) 3GB is not a lot. But I don't know how much he will use the internet for.

i would seriosuly not recommend going with Virgin.

my friend is with them and has terrible download speeds and pings during peak times

and read their forum here , doesnt look as though other people are very happy with them :)

I'm a happy Virgin Customer. My line in Swindon is really dire though and I opted to stay with a 512 kbps line than opt for the faster ADSL Max which even though crept up to 1 - 2 Mbps, it seemed a lot slower to do things.

Customer service was helpful on 1 out of 2 occasions. As long as you never have to phone the premium 'switch if off and back on again and call us back' number.

I've only been disconnected once in a year long subscription with them.

Parents have it at home and for browsing etc it seems to be fine. They have had problems with disconnects but I think that is more to do with the poor phone line they have than any problem at virgins end.

The customer service when I last used it on behalf of the 'rents was pretty dire especially compared to the likes of f2s I've used at university.
