Hey folks,

Im after some owner opinions of the Ovlov XC60 or the Mazda CX5. Im in the process of choosing my next company car, I have an Audi A4 Avant at the mo, and whilst its a nice car, I fancy a change. Also the Audi's ofset pedals have given me a little bit of pain in my knee on long journeys.

Anyway, the Mazda and volvo have popped up on my radar,I can have top spec versions of both. The XC60 D4 R design Lux looks an interesting car, the engine seems to be fairly pokey and inside its a little funky, and it seems to fulfil my size requirements ie 2 baby seats and a human in the back. The CX5 also seems well equipped and looks pretty smart in Sport trim. Its meant to drive well too.

Im also going to check out the A6 S line and possibily a Skoda Superb as my estate options, not looking at any saloons as i like to flexibility of a hatch. BMW and Merc are out as i do a fair bit of driving in Scotland now, so prefer the reassurance of a FWD or AWD car.

Anyway back to my original question, what do owners think of the XC60 and CX5, i havent actually driven any yet, so what are they like to drive, im expecting a wallowy ride and numb steering. Whats the reliability like, fit finish etc etc. Basicallyu, would you reccomend it :p

To be fair i would probably be going for a FWD model anyway as its cheaper on Tax. I just dont want a RWD car at the mo.

Passat GTE is very expensive on the scheme, the Merc C Class hybrid is very well priced, but its pretty small in the back.

The outlander is not for me, pretty plastic fantastic inside.

I've had my 13 plate CX5 for about 3 months now, personally I think it's great. I went for the 2.2D Sport Nav AWD with Auto, but I assume being a company car it'll more likely be the 2.2D 150bhp FWD. Very good spec, even the basic models come with a decent amount of toys.
Don't get anywhere near the manufacturers mpg, but I didn't buy it for economy. Looked at Ford Kuga, Mistusbishi Outlander, Audi Q5 and VW Tiguan. For the same money, the CX5 was the best choice for me.
The latest model has an improved 'Infotainment' system, that is one of my bug bears for the older model.
Hope this helps.
